PK questionnaire
Below are the questions we asked PK's (Preacher's Kids) from around the world. Most of the responses were not from subscribers.
- How old are you?
- What is the denomination in which you grew up?
- Do you still count yourself as a part of that denomination?
- Which parent is ordained and what was your age when s/he was ordained?
- How often did you attend church as a child?
- If you are married, did you marry someone involved in the church?
- Was that a consideration when you looked for a spouse?
- Do you attend church, now?
- How often?
- If you don't attend now, do you believe that having children will change that (or did having children change your involvement in the church)?
- If you're not active in church now, what do you see as some of the reasons?
In regards to church attendance:
- What will you do (or do you do) differently with your children than your parents did with you?
- What did your parents do well?
- What do you wish your parents had done differently?

27 year old, male,
Church of the Province of South Africa 1.-3. 27 and male. Church of the Province of South Africa. Yes - even though my fiancee is RC and I have been attending church with her for the last two years.
4.-5. My mother was ordained when I was 12. Every week.
6.-7. I'm marrying a committed Roman Catholic. Yes. Spirituality was important.
8.-9. Yes. Almost every week.
12. I would like to give my children a broader perspective of religion - perhaps by celebrating important feasts/days in all the major religions at one time or another to give them a sense of the diversity in the world. Other than that, I don't see any reason to differ from how I was raised.
13. My parents were never bombastic about religion. They gave me a sense of confidence in my faith without being too prescriptive about belief. We were allowed to find out things for ourselves and make up our own minds.
14. Very little really. They did an impressive job.
15.-16. The parish I grew up in was very close and supportive. We were given a lot of love. That's what I remember most about it.
